  4. Combine the lemon juice with the zest, crushed garlic, parsley, thyme, marjoram, salt and pepper and the oil (if you use vinegar, you could use some also).
  5. Add the chicken breast in the mixture, coat it well.
  6. Cover with plastic film.

Chill for 30 mns. For better taste, chill overnight.

2 sweet potatoes

4 Yukon gold potatoes

1/4 cup + 2 tbsp of olive oil

1 tsp dried rosemary

1 tsp dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Peel and cube the potatoes. 
  3. Boil the boil for about 3 minutes in lightly salted water, and drain.
  4. Lay the potatoes on a nonstick sheet pan.
  5. Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with the dried herbs, salt and pepper.
  6. Roast until brown and crisp for about 25 minutes.
  7. Serve right out of the oven.

This potato dish serves 6 people.

I love garlic. You will not find me cooking without it. The only thing I won’t probably eat with garlic would be ice cream. As many know, garlic has many health benefits, but that’s not all. If you are like me, and can’t stay away from garlic, you probably know the major disadvantage of eating it: the taste and the smell follow you around for a good while.

 

Last night I went out and I had some shrimp scampi for appetizer. As you know, garlic plays a huge part of the making of that dish. I enjoyed every bite of it. Unfortunately I can still taste the garlic in my mouth. I have brushed my teeth already three times. We all know that garlic breath can be pretty embarrassing.

This experience brought me to do some research on how to get the garlic taste out of your mouth.

This is what I came up with.

One of the reasons that garlic breath is so strong is that garlic is full of sulphorous compounds. These compounds “feed” the bacteria in your mouth and bad breath (halitosis) is caused as a result.

There are no ways to prevent garlic breath, but there are some ways to minimize the taste

1.Eat parsley with your meal.

2.Chew on cardamon seeds, it has the same effects as chewing on parley (according to some).

3.Drink some lemonade, or lemon tea, eat lemon. Pretty much anything with lemon should help the garlic breath.

To get rid of the smell on the hands, rub your hands with some metal (steel works well). Another way is to wash your hands and rub some lemon or lime and wash again.
